One Of The Most Irrational Conversation I've Ever Heard

A: Do you know that Tchaikovsky was gay? He was.
B: What?
A: You heard what I said, right?
B: Yes, but...
A: But what?
B: But... I can't believe it.
A: Can't believe that he was homosexual?
B: No, I can't believe that a person did so much for mankind, people can still say such thing to him.
A: What thing?
B: The "thing" you just mentioned.
A: "Homosexual".
B: ... Right.
A: So you think homosexual is bad thing? Should stay hidden forever?
B: No. I don't mean that.
A: So...
B: Please just don't say it.
A: ....

Two Different Kinds of Moral Standards:

I understand that there are two type of moral standards: social and humanistic.
The social moral standards are set up for establishing social stability. This includes laws, religion doctrines and common social customs (based on traditional ideology). The humanistic standard is based on our conscience, which belong to our nature. The former favors more on social needs, latter more on individual rights.
History of ethics seems to involve from strict collective (social) rules that prohibited most individual desires or needs, to be more tolerant on individual rights. Examples such as marriage, patriotism, homosexuality, religious, etc. all demonstrated this route.

A sudden blue of the day...

It is one of those days... I was doing some researches for a writing about gay & lesbians movements in USA (the writing is in Chinese). I went through history (world history) and read some documents about persecutions toward homosexuals. It was gruesome. And again I was convinced that human is worse than animals.
Anyone with a decent brain please ask yourself this question: who the hell would CHOOSE to be homosexual to give himself/herself chances to be discriminated even persecuted in such brutal way?
