Unfortunately, some adults are comfortable with their ignorance perhaps because they fail to see that their prejudice is often rooted in ignorance. Children are innocents so their ignorance stems from that innocence. But adults who are ignorant choose to be that way.
madilyn, i guess we are using the word "ignorance" in different ways: in my post i refer to the neutral definition of it, which is "lack of knowledge or information", and in your comment, it seems to me that you refer to it's negative aspect: stupidity. and under your context i do agree with you. :-)
